Food Drive

Our Helping Hands Food Pantry has grown its outreach to our community during COVID-19 with record-high service levels. While the need for food assistance continues to rise, our regular supply channels for purchasing food are being interrupted, making some of the pantry’s basic items difficult to get.  We held a very successful food drive in May to meet the need, but our supplies have been depleted.  To help meet the increased demand, Sunset is going to host another no-contact Drive & Drop Food Drive.

When you shop, please purchase a few of these items in a bag or box. Then, on Sunday, August 16 from 11:30 – 2:00, drive up to Sunset where volunteers, in masks and gloves, will collect the items from your trunk or back of your vehicle. You will never have to get out of your car! If you cannot shop you can give online to Helping Hands by utilizing the button/link provided.

Feel free to share this info with your neighbors!

School Supplies

here are a lot of unknowns for the coming school year and we want to show love in a very practical way to families during these challenging times.

Alaska Christian College

Purchased items will ship free to Alaska and be included in welcome bags sewn by Sunset.

Local Schools
Beaverton School District has announced distance learning for the fall.
This will have an impact on every family and presents unique challenges for the 31% of kids who receive free / reduced lunch. Helping Hands will continue to work with our school counselors to provide healthy food to these families. Your donations next Sunday will make a real difference.
